USG Austiko / Taufik Akbar

The diagnosis of Appendicitis early in its clinical course, has preplexed clinicians for years.

In fact, it has suggested that ULTRASONOGRAPHY is the answer to this clinical dilemma.

We still find that the diagnosis of pain in the right lower quadrant may be difficult no matter what technique is used.

Case 1: Boys 12 years old.

Admitted hospital 3 days for GASTROENTERITIS

At the fourth day- feel abdominal pain diffuse.

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION: appendix edema ( diameter 8 mm ) with thickness walls and surrounding by liquid with debris ( pus ? )

CONCLUSION: APPENDIX PERFORATION

Case 2 : Boys 8 years old.

Admitted hospital with pain and dullness in right lower quadrant.

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION: APPENDIX EDEMA DIAMETER 9 mm, infiltrate (+)

CONCLUSION: APPENDIX INFILTRATE.
